Topic: Exporting list of files to csv

As well as using VDJ I have an account with DJ Event Planner and would like to regularly update my music database on my account, which involves uploading a csv file of my music list.
The current method I use is so damn complicated I only do it a couple of times a year and wish there was an easy solution so I could do it far more frequently.
I need it to be able to handle both mp3 & mp4 as I have a substantial amount of mp4 files.
Are there any official or third party plugins for VDJ that can export a list of music it knows about to a CSV file?

Or is there any other easy solution to export all of my mp3 and mp4 files to a csv file?

You can try my tool if you like.

It is able to export the history or a playlist file to CSV.
In order to use it for your needs, all you have to do is to create a playlist with all the tracks you want to export.
For all of your tracks, make sure all of you external HDDs or flash drives are connected.
Now, either create a filter folder with the action "exists=1" or just type * into the search field of the VDJ browser.
That will bring up all your tracks.
Now mark all tracks and drag&drop them into the automix section.
Save the tracks into a playlist.

Now close VDJ and start the HistoryConverter tool.
To export a playlist you have to open it through the "file" menu first.
Click on "open history folder" and navigate to the playlist folder of VirtualDJ.

(In case you didn't know where it is located. It is in .../Documents/VirtualDJ/Playlists).
Select the Playlist folder and click "open" (or OK).

You are now able to select a playlist in the drop down field.

As you can see in the picture above, you are also able to include some database fields to be exported to the CSV.

All you have to do now is to click on "convert", select a destination path and filename and you've got your CSV file.

Hello mate,

Are you using v8 on PC?

I've got a utility I wrote for exactly this purpose. It's geared for v8 but could be adapted for v7 with some small changes.

PS. I belong to DJ Intelligence and I need to upload to them a csv file WITH the file paths. The iTunes method doesn't allow file paths and I can't find a utility for the mac.

Ditto please utility.

I see it has the other fields in there, I recently have used phase express to automate filter folder creation. Still manual steps required without having the data in a list, this would make it a breeze!

Seriously, the function to export should be built in to the VDJ executable as part of the core program. BPM Studio had this 15 years ago. Many many people have asked for this but it was obviously ignored when developing version 8.
