MIC can be broadcasted easily if it is connected to a MIC input /Line Input of a sound card.
If it is connected to an analogue dj mixer, then you need to follow these steps .. http://www.virtualdj.com/wiki/Recording%20your%20set%20or%20broadcasting%20when%20using%20an%20external%20DJ%20mixer.html
If the MIC is connected to the built in sound of your computer, then Broadcaster version will do the job.
If the MIC is connected to an analogue dj mixer or in a USB sound card (or the MIC is a USB device), then you need Basic version.
Pro Full version is required in case the MIC is connected to a midi controller or you intend to use a midi controller while broadcasting.

You can use a microphone as described above, but there are problems that most likely will arise from the above method:
The microphone will be "Hot" all the time unless you adjust the PC's internal mixer application. Since trying to manage the microphone level with the PC's mixer is not the easiest task (I know someone who does that...) it is much easier to connect an analog audio mixer to the soundcard's input and use the mixer to control the microphone levels. This brings us to problem 2...
If you connect a microphone to the input of the soundcard and set up that input as a microphone input, you will most likely pick up all sorts of electrical and mechanical noise! This can also be solved with an audio mixer that feeds the soundcard input with line level audio AND the sound card input configured as a line input!
I am currently doing an Internet Radio show with an audio mixer feeding a soundcard whose input is set up for line levels. The microphone audio is great and I have noticed an improved audio quality over running VDJ into the mixer with the microphone then sending the output to a separate encoder PC (or if doing live DJ-ing, to a sound system...)
I hope that this helps!

I still cant use my microphone....I have a RMX dj mixing console. It has a mic outlet, but when i broadcast you cant hear it. You can only hear it in the room Im dj'ing in and not on my station...Can someone help. What do I do to get the mic to broadcast

Computer (broadcasting) -> RMX -> speakers.
You're broadcasting from the computer, before the sound gets to the RMX.
The mic is connected to the RMX, and the output of the RMX goes to your speakers. That all happens AFTER the sound has left the computer.

I have had the same problem previously. I broadcast using a Hercules RMX with VDJ Pro. If you plug your mic into the controller as normal then select Config > Sound Setup > Input > Microphone. Then open RMX driver app (there should be a small turntable icon in your box near the battery and time in Windows). Make sure that mic is selected there and not line. It will be to the left under the faders.
That will now record or broadcast your mic as long as the mic icon is lit in VDJ (depending on what skin you use but nromally above the faders in VDJ). But as mentioned, the mic is PERMANENTLY live. So don't forget to turn the mic down after use.
Hope that helps

ok i have the same issue when i broadcast over the internet and trying to use my microphone.. i have gone into advance settings tried record loop back, and the vocals are crap, and have tried to set the microphone to the internal sound card and tried this directly and through the DJ I/O but all i get is crackling and scratchy sound. Now here is the thing. If i roll back to v5.2.1 ( thats the one i could find on my disk) and use master+mic and use the mic directly or through the DJ I/O the vocals are crystal clear when i broadcast. So my question is that with 7.4 and the new sound engine this should be fixed, not made worse.
any help would be appreciated..
Thanks in advance
