THIS IS TRULY HORRIBLE. AT A GIG AND SOUND DOESN'T WORK ON THE NUMBER 2 DECK

A couple of things...
1. This is not a known problem with VDJ v7.0.5, so will be a setup or configuration issue on your end.
2. You have given absolutely no information that could actually let anyone help you.
3. You really should have spent some time testing. Never ever ever update just prior to a gig!
So please provide the following information for a start:
What sound card you are using
Any devices you are using to control VDJ
A detailed description of what is actually happening and if possible how someone could replicate it
What you have configured in sound setup and performances within the VDJ config
Regards,
Scott

Virtual dj pro version 7.0.5 FULL
HP DV7 Notebook
2.10 ghz processor
4 gig Ram
Vista 64 bit
Internal soundcard for this configuration
No controller for this configuration
sounds works, the fades out to almost nothing then blasts back on.
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Saturday morning I installed this and ran it for EIGHT HOURS connected to a Denon DNHC4500... I had an intermittent problem where if I was looping while I was mixing, deck 2 would stop working and I would have to shut down and restart
These aren't problems I ever had to deal with with the previous version of VDJ
Forget it...I'll roll back and bide my time til version 8

There's nothing in the version update that could cause the problems you have described.
The HC-4500 issue is probably because Vista does not work well with Midi over extended periods.
Sounds more like a hardware or config issue rather than the new version.

Upgrade your operating system first especially on that older laptop. Vista ,if I remember correctly, is a cpu hog(very inefficient). Seems I remember Vista would change up settings too. Get Windows 7 and dont look back. Your dual core processor and 4 gig ram is bangin'. You could even mix video with that. But not with Vista.

Even good ol' XP would probably do a better job than Vista. Also, check see if there are any newer drivers for your laptop, there might be an upgraded soundcard driver on HP's website, for example.

First, if you have to upgrade on your gig machine then make sure you install in a separate directory. This way you can ensure your working config is still in place and you won't have to worry about playing a gig with potential problems which can affect your as well as your software/hardware...
Second you should never gig live with a new version until you are 100% happy with the setup for the same reasons as above.
Luckily Virtual DJ will let you do both of the above. So what I would do as a priority is reinstall the working version you were happy with in a different directory so you can gig with that while we sort your 7.0.5 problems out...
Hope this helps,
Roy

Make sure that you have the latest firmware and drivers loaded for the DN-HC4500 and if using with Vista, make sure that you have reduced the jogwheel resolution to prevent it freezing due to the poor MIDI support in Vista.

As above, upgrading from Vista to Windows 7 is strongly recommended.

Above mentioned link for hc4500 cannot be found. It seems like none of the hc4500 links work anywhere.

The link to the wiki page? It works OK for me.
