Topic: Clip Banks in VDJ 7 - Page: 3

This part of topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information

Eric skype is freeware it only takes a couple of minutes to download and install, it also gives me the option at looking on your desk top so I can see the steps you are taking, will be much quicker if you can use a microphone with it instead of text chatting.

Thanks Tayla, but the VDJ computer I'm doing this is an older XP laptop that I am using only for these visuals and not connected to internet, and I'd rather not complicate things by starting to install that stuff on there. My Sony i7 laptop is the one I use for normal DJ'ing, but that one works fine.

Thanks for offering.

Eric .......Skype isn't going to give you a virus .....

almost everybody you are talking to frequently connects even there gig rig to the internet....

i do so that i can download audio and video from netsearch and various other sources

you only have to worry about viruses and malware if you are doing things that you

should probably know better not to do .......

Here you go Eric as promised, sorry, renaming or numbering should be done directly after the word clipbank, I forgot to mention that in the video.

For people that have not done this before it should be easier to understand then the images tutorial I posted earlier in the thread.

OK I just tried copying the INI and DLL files only, and I get exactly the same problem. Both clipbank1 and clipbank2 are self generating a file called clipbank.bmp, which they are both using to overwrite each other.

Not sure if this is normal, but when I install the clipbank plug-in initially, I ONLY see a DLL file. In order to get the INI file, I must open VDJ and select & deselect the installed clipbank (but not load it). Then the INI file becomes present in the effects folder.

??????

Okay Eric, here what I think will solve your problem;

1. Delete all clipbank1 & clipbank2 files in videoeffect folder..
2. Make sure Only the ClipBank, dll, ini and bmp files remain.
3. Make a new folder "New ClipBanks".
4. Copy Clipbank.dll & Clipbankini into "New Clipbank" Folder.
5, Open "New Clipbank" folder and rename the two files "clipbank 1.dll & Clipbank1.ini.
6. Hightlight both new files and copy into "videoeffect" folder.
7. Open VDJ and click on the newly created clipbank1.
8. Populate all twelve clips.
9. Right click on the first clip and choose "Loop" then "Beat Synced"
10. Do the above to all the clips in the bank...

If you want to try the random clipbank plugin, install it, then you will also have to copy the "Clipbank_Rendom.dll to the "New Folder" and rename it to "ClipBank 1.dll_Random, then copy it back to the "Videoeffect" folder...

Hope this works for you, If you need a little more help with this pm me...

Good Luck,

Joey...

There's no need for a "new clipbank" folder, just copy it to your desktop like Tayla's video............

This is too easy
Huey

Thank you Joey and Tayla.

I'm not sure what you are specifying here that I am not doing. I have neen following those steps exactly. I do rename the clipbank as clipbank1.dll and clipbank2.dll, etc... with the number after the clipbank. But the dll insists on generating a preview box named "clipbank.bmp" - no matter what the dll name is.

There is no need to copy it to the desktop either, when you can copy it to a folder close to your work... what your point Here?...Huey

Oh, I see Tayla said, that explains it....sorry then...

Eric try this please, Chipbank Pop.dll and name the others the same way, just to test this out first, and let me know....

Thanks,

Joey...

Bro really you gotta stop acting like such a sissy. My point is why give him different instructions?? Keep it all the same. Yeah sure your way works as well but its just another unnecessary step in my opinion or am I not untitled to that??

Envy gets you no where
Huey

OK... I just repeated the entire sequence a few times with no change. I tried no spaces in the filename, yes spaces, numbers only, and text only.

An observation.... Although all clipbanks show the same preview window (which is the most recent one I've loaded), they still show the correct clip when you select the thumbnail and activate. It's just that the thumbnail doesn't match what's playing because they are all using the same clipbank.BMP file.

What I can't understand Joey is you couldn't get it to work until you followed my instructions, now you are trying to tell people how to do it differently, grasshopper, keep it simple...

Eric that offer still stands if you want to hook up on Skype.

Therefore your point was useless Bro'..."stop acting like such a sissy", I'm done with this "Worded Playground behavior"...
I'm just trying to help Eric out, not get into a squabble with anyone over this....

So What Tayla, what does that mean, bow to you, we all need help from time to time and yes people do give advice sometimes in theory, rather then in practice, I see it all the time, it doesn't mean you should get upset and start calling people "dumb" because they asked...

Your child like behavior doesn't seem to fit your status in this forum..

OK thanks Tayla - maybe I'll try that next week. For now, I'm going to uninstall 7.03 and re-install 5.2. I've got a big show this weekend that I'm needing these visuals for.

No probs Eric, let me know when... and have a good show.

Joey get the chip of your shoulder, no one called anyone dumb, but I'm sure I wouldn't want to try and change anything if someone showed me how to get a problem I was having working.

Child like? I think you better look in the mirror, those smileys were placed there to show I was making light of the situation and was not offended by you attempting to rearrange what was a perfectly good and simple way of getting you and others out of your predicament.

You yourself took my advice on the thread and got your problem working, so why would you want to elaborate on it. Only you can answer that.

As for taking a pop at my status that smacks of, well.... I think thats been mentioned.

Just FYI... I just uninstalled 7.03 and installed 5.2, and clipbanks duplicate great.

I've got 6 banks to hold me over for the wekend, and no grayed out preview problem!

Thats one problem I've still haven't figured out Eric, wished I could though, it's inconvenient when you cannot see whats in those windows.

I need some help here anyone please I donot see a clipbank.dll file in my video effect folder i'm using MAC

You must download and install the clipbank from the PLUGIN section, under DOWNLOAD (top of this page).
