Anybody had any experience with one of these and VDJ? Am just looking for a small, cheap reliable laptop to run VDJ off.

acer extensa 4420 @ best buy...... $499 i use it 5 nights a week with timecode and video........ not one problem

Thanks, doesn't look like a bad laptop and the price is good. However it is more expensive than the Aspire One, with a lower spec. And it's bigger, so I'm not sure I could justify going for that model. I would assume that if VDJ runs smoothly on that though, the Aspire One should handle it.

Nobody else on here got any comments?

Hi sorry for my english , i have try the demo on this aspire one with 1 gig of ram , 120 gig hd , windows xp sp3..

But the only " bug " is the resolution screen.... need a skin for this lcd 8.9... 1024x600...

for BPM studio, i need to set 800x600 and openn bpm after swith to 1024x600 for best result.

hi i have recently picked up an aspire one and have been using virtual dj for a while with a maya44 usb soundcard on my normal laptop but since ive moved over to the aspicer i went to hook it up to the set up in the club where i dj and the levels of output on both channels of the mixer where alot lower than that of which when i run my software on my older standard acer laptop! any ideas on rectifying this issue!

thanks

I'm typing my reply on my Acer One right now. I wouldn't do VDJ on it. Those netbooks are not really made for that type of application. Get yourself a fully powered laptop for the best results.

Running Virtual DJ on an 8.9 inch screen would be very annoying especially if you sit the notebook back past any turntables, mixers etc. I understand portablility but wouldnt it be alot more easier on a 13.1 or even better, 15.4 widescreen so that you can have more info showing on your database. I personally havent used the acer one but other online reviews also mention the "Small, oddly designed mouse trackpad".

You can fit a 15.4 widescreen laptop, Mk2 Soundcard/controller, headphones and some extra cables into one laptop backpack with some room to spare, that would be my call for portability.

I run VDJ (audio only) on a Samsung NC20 no problems at all. A bit slow loading tracks due to the underpowered CPU but otherways perfect.

The NC20 is a 13.1 screen which supports 1280 x 800 so it's a perfect notebook size and weight, the battery lasts for 4-5 hours too.

Excellent!
