I am running a 2.4 toshiba laptop with 512 megs. I bought the maya 44 uba sound card and downloaded+ installed ver 2.5.5 driver. I am planning to buy some pro cd players but for now i am testing the timecode cd using my dual cd player(GLi Pro DC 5000 - an old no-name brand player from a coule years ago).

The cd player works/controls vdj: starts, stop pauses tracks.

Problem 1 : i cannot get the timecode signal any greater the 0%. I turned the gain all the way up in the maya uba control panel. In the timecode vinal configuration : I selected
turnable -> cd ;and tried all check boxes: software RAII preamp and the other 2 options with no success.

Problem 2 : During playback the track sometime give a brief slur(it sounds like when try to use the cd player jog wheel in reverse mode). Note the sound never slur swhen using the maya card when playing without the timecode option.

Well I guess I spoke too soon.. Some more "fooling" with the settings and got 100% signal -> which in turn got rid of the audio slur.

And now the FUN begins........
