Topic: Video encoding for VDJ

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

I've got to post this question, even though it's a stupid one.

Ok, basically I know nothing about DVD's. I've been trying to take copy protected dvd's and rip them to my hard drive. No problem...that is the easy part.

The thing I don't know how to do is make the stupid vob files into individual audio/video tracks so I can add them to my music folder and play them in Cue?

Here is an example of what I've done so far....
I ripped a copy protected DVD for Duran Duran videos. There are 5 vob files sitting on my desktop right now. Each vob file contains 5 or 6 videos. I want to break those videos down into 5 or 6 separate tracks and I have no idea how to do it??

You need a program such as:

TMPGEnc DVD Author 3 with DivX® Authoring

http://tmpgenc.pegasys-inc.com/en/product/tda3.html

Such a program allows you to get into the vob and extract only the videos you want.

I've not used this program (I use ImToo DVD ripper), but a friend of mine does use it and he is able to perform the function you need.
The program cost about $90. but can easily be found for free on the net. Just Google it.
