Hey guys
Ok so im in love with the CDJ 1000 mk3 for i have no idea what reason. I am currently using VDJ 5.07 with my denon 4500 midi maped
My question is, can i use the cdj1000 mk3 time coded with VDJ. And if so is any one doing it right now.
Pro/ and cons
I just like the feel of the cdj\'s and also all the features. If you can do this what soundcard / interface do you use
If any one could give me some pros/cons that would be awsome
Thanks fella

Yes you can use the Pioneer CDJ 1000's to control VDJ but you need the TimeCoded CDRS from this site or the orignal tone at -14 db for use in Pioneer/Denon equipment...
You need a multi-channel sound card...
I have this one and it works great with my CDJ - 1000 [Version #01] decks and responds quickly and very well:

Thanks for the input
So you use cdj 1000 urself?
How is the lateincy? Do all the features work, hot starts and loops on the cdjs or are u still forced to use the ones on VDJ
Also that link u sent me
how does that work? Because the interface does not have a input and outputs. Dont i need to to run eaxh cdj into and then also two rca outs to go to my mixer? like a serato box kinda?
Correct me if im wrong
And please any input on ur system would be great
Thanks

They work perfect for me and yes you can loop, hot start etc; except keylock.

Whats up PR 1 The Pioneer CDJs are really good. Expensive but worth every penny. The scratching is tighter than a turntable. I have 2 CDJ 1000 mk3s and the pioneer Mixer DJM 500 the black one

Yes I use the CDJ1000MKII [Version #01's] with very little to no latency issues.
Unit's features work!!!
The sound card has inputs and outputs.
Basically you take your RCA outs from the Pioneer units and input them into the Sound Card's Inputs on the front and two in the back via some RCA to 1/4" adapters then take the sound card's output which is located on the back and connect to your P.A. system's Inputs or in my case I hook the VDJ output to Channel #01 of my Pionner DJM-3000 mixer and then run the sound card's CUE output to the mixing board's Channel #02 and use the mixers headphone PFL headphone cues. Then if the VDJ crashes, I have a backup Dual CD Player the Pioneer CMX-3000...
That Pioneer CMX-3000 also works very well with the "TimeCoded CDS" for just doing the "basic mixing"
I plan on upgrading my Pioneer CMX-3000 since it does not read MP3 discs to the one of the Denon Dual CD Players that play CD/MP3 files, etc...
As for my System...
P4 2.4 ghz with 3GB RAM and Window's XP Pro is Tweaked for "VDJ" use...
Dual Output Video Card
Works very well!!!

Like Caliente said (sup caliente) CDJ MK3 are expensive but you get every pennys worth. I use the DJM 600 mixer with M-Audio Conectiv soundcard that came with my Torq software. As for Laptop i use a tweaked Dell 1505 dual core 1.7 ghz with XP home.

The M Audio connectiv works good with virtual dj. It cost 250 for the sound card only. I use to have one and i sold it . I am now using the serato sound card

Ok so, help me out with my settings for my CDJ's as I can't get the hot cue's loop to work correctly, I'm also getting no timecode signal.
I've posted a topic asking for help and unfortunately nothing yet it's been over 24 hours.
I got the CDj 1000's with a DJM 600 using the U46djmk2 I can only use the cdj's for about 10 minutes then I lose control.

You probably lose control because the time code is ending and you have to bring back the track search back to the begging each time you play a song. Press tarck search on the cdj .. it will bring back the time code to the beggining.

Caliente got you number it's a bit early still so I will call later. Also, no it's not the TCCD running out, actually, I seen that one coming when I first starting playing around, because of lack of time I really didn't stick around to let the control run out of time and when I decided to make a mixtape, that's when it started happening. I'm stillusing my other setup for strictly cd mixing and I got another big gig which is going to require ALOT of music and it's crunch time for me since it's next week if I can't get this to work properly. CSTOLL gave me some tweak advice so let's see what happens, I also re burned the TCCD at the slowest my burner copies which is 8x to see if that helps.

I have an idea of what wrong. I was trying to show you step by step before by call me up instead..

hello,
Was using VDJ last nite to play extended vids that i made, and the 12 minute timecode ran out on the right side player. i lost connectivity, but i cant figure out how to get it to start working again. Im runnin it in smart mode. Honestly ive been using serato for years and because VDJ does the videos without having to buy a rane mixer, i went with it. i am having issues with the cdjs. (if i hit cue, or create a cuepoint in the beginnning of the video, it will not let me go back to the beginning of the track, i cant hit the track search or use any functions besides scratching with the jog wheel and the play/pause button. also, do i have to reset the pitch every time i load a video? these little bugs are driving me crazy...any help would be excellent! u can even email me --@--.--
thanks every1

if you are playing a video thats longer than 12 minutes. On your Cdj's you have to loop.. " In Adjust and then Out Adjust.. Set virtual dj like serato in relative mode. If you want to go back to the beggining, you have to have each track or each video cued from the 1 thru 5 cue points.

thanks for the reply,
so lets say i accidently let one side of the 2 channels run the entire 12 minutes, vdj will continue to play the track, but then even after i reload the 12 minute timecode mp3, i still lose all connectivity with that particular channel. are there any methods besides rebooting vdj to gain connectivity again?
thanks,
jack

you are not letting the 12 minute time code finish, you are looping the time code from the cdj. You have to change the setting from virtual dj that as long as it reads a time code signal, it keeps playing....

where is that located?
