It would be nice if their audio quality was consistent. "Nothing below 160kbps" is scary, when you only use 320kbps. I filled out their application, and will wait and see what they have. If Funkturnal and Low-Fat-Al like it, I figure it's worth a try.

@Rick,

As they are mp4 files they are likely to be aac encoded, which means a 160 aac file would be close to 192 mp3

SmashVidz Rox!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I just signed up today. I think that the price is resonable $37 a month. I paid with PayPal. The videos are MP4 100 to 150 mb files from what I've sceen. They do look ok. Their servers are pretty fast as well. You can get recurrent stuff as well as new stuff thats poppin'! Today I downloaded and left feedback for 14 videos. BTW leaving feedback is very simple. You rate the song between 1 & 6. (1 is best, 6 is worst) It couldn't be any easier. Finally they actually respond to your emails fairly quickly as well.
My report:
So Far So Good, SmashVidz Rox!

The catagories include:

Acapellaz (5/0)
Xtendz (61/0)
Dance / Techno (6/0)
Blendz / Mashupz (42/0)
Oldschool / Classics (7/0)
Tranzitionz (2/0)
Bathroom Breakz (1/0)
Vj Tools (1/0)

So, I will be able to play a .vob in one deck and one of these in the other, without changing any codecs or anything?

yes sir. vdj natively supports mp4/h.264 now ;-)

these videos are good to go ;)
all my audio are 320kbps aac

Thanks for all the feedback. I think I am going to give them a try.

The Smashvidz mp4s are 100% compatible with VDJ.
It's kinda nice having some videos with intros and breaks for a change!

I would like to reccomend that they add some latin tracks to the collection. Salsa, reggaeton, merengue etc, But there is probally not a lot of vj on there staff to do this. I guess I have to make my own, I just don't have the time for now.

Hi Guys,

Is there a kimit to how much you can download a month?

No limitz!

I don't understand it, I filled out the "application" and received the approval with the Pay Pal link, this is all fine.
But I've yet to see EXATCLY what videos that have to offer? Do they expect you to pay first before seeing what you are buying?

above the application it explains what filling the applications is for. it also says "If you have questions, e-mail us first before you fill out the application."

if you would like to schedule a demo session that is available too. instructions for this is also under the "try us out" menu.

pretty simple if you read ;)

promo only doesn't offer downloadable content or extended mixes.
Club series offers extended remixes with really good fx effects , check it out

I know they have it on their Club Series... but not for general market top 40 music. Just dance/house music. Which I love but can't always get away with.

Oh look "Nocturnal" is being condescending. LMFAO

I joined, the videos are good quality and the mixes I've downloaded are very good.
They are going to need a little (LOT) more content to keep me interested, time will tell but so far I like what I see.

I do wish they didn't have the www.smashvidz.com on their logo. We constantly have people ask if we get are videos off U-tube.... I just grin and say no we don't have the Internet.

Hey everyone, I just contacted them about their service, I'm going to check it out here myself an report back what I find. I'm going to ask them to come here an explain a little bit about what they do and how it works.

I just join and download all their songs and I like the quality of the videos. Some mixes are better than others. I will monitor them to see if the service is worth keeping. After being burnt in the past by other companies you just can't trust every one out there. VMS had great video but got shut down and I was out my money. Atleast this is a monthly fee not annually. Also interested to see what this new venuevj service is going to offer.

:)

think this is a really good way to get what we really need.. plus and exciting way of gettng what we did not expect.. in terms of their remixes. finally a site that caters for vdjs.. thing about it, is that it seems fairly new. downloadability...(GREAT)
