not quite sure i get what youre saying.
if you go into a club you are using an 'external mixer' not the internal vdj mixer. you wont be using headphones on the soundcard, you'd use it on the mixer.
if you are trying to do the opposite, use the headphones on the soundcard and have vdj in 'single output' mode, you cant pfl the other deck, thats exactly why it's called single output mode. you need to be in 'external mixer' mode and have two outputs to the mixer.

Thought I'd try my questions here first before starting a new topic.
I am currently using the Maya 44 external sound card - I think it does a good job, but the out puts are so darn low. I have followed all the advice in the forum to get it all the way turned up ... but still pretty low regardless of playing 320kbps or 192kbps files.
I'm actually contemplating getting the AUDIO 8 DJ sound card because the web info raves about the "hi-gain" out puts.
Anyone have a good experience with the AUDIO 8 sound card with VDJ?
Are the out puts high and strong?
Is the AUDIO 8 easy to set up with VDJ?
Thank you in advance for any information.

EXCELLENT news and information that Audio 8 works and works well with VDJ.
Glad to learn there are high-end alternatives to the Maya 44.
Thanks for the info marlou/DJmart

To use the Audio Dj8s internal headphone amp you need to do set Vdj to output the monitor channels on 3-4, connect the output from 3-4 to the input phono's 5-6 using a short phone lead then set the input select on the Dj Audio 8s headphone input select switch from 7-8 to inputs on 5-6 the front two phono sockets. This is explaned (not very well ) on the instruction sheet.

For those interested:
I bought the Audio 8 DJ sound card and it sounded great here at home before taking it to the club.
It truly is a Plug and play (although I use an external control device [no Timecode]). Loaded the driver and VDJ recognized it immediately.
Got to the club and set up the computer;
The sound was strong, clean, and crisp in one word Awesome! The club's sound engineer noticed a huge difference immediately and complimented me on the upgrade from the Maya44.
I highly recommend the Audio 8 DJ - it is worth every cent.

"the simple fool proof highly recomended plug and play audio 8 dj"
For me it was just that simple, otherwise I'd have never figured it out. We have been through a couple of Soundblasters, as well as the Maya44.
These cards are now stored in the "holly crap we are off the air box" where we keep backup equipment.
Audio 8 as far as we are concerned it is the MACK DADDY of sound cards for the money. :^)

Hey is that new, or is it the original NI interface? I don't remember them having 4 stereo outs.

Dj Marshall B Here I used VDJ for 3 years in the club with the club house setup this year I finally got the time and money to get all that I wanted so I searched and found the best set up for me. I found the traktor scratch crossgrade for 399 on www.americanmusical.com. You would need to have serato or final scratch if you want to use the provided software but who wants that? VDJ is the best platform I have ever used. much better than final scratch , serato scratch live and traktor scratch live. I have been a Dj for 22 years and me and my partner dj Fresh along with VDJ has taken Kelly's(our Town club) to a level much above all around the area. Anyway I bought the crossgrade for $399 and a brand new setup with numark tt's and mixer and caufin a new pc and a red string light to drape around my case and set up and also a larger external hard drive with 300gb of music and 80gb of music videos. and almost 200gb free left for more. . Audio 8 is the best sound card out there to me. it works perfect with VDJ they should be packaged together instead of the numark interface. This setup is totally sexy I must say. I will post a picture as soon as I get a chance.
