I got a question about Virtual DJ 5
I am a Chop & Screw DJ and i would like to know this, how can i record my music videos ?
in VDJ 5 beside a projector is there a program out there? i don't care how much it costs
i will buy it, if it is fraps i have that and it gives my videos bad quality.
Thanks in advance

most of the guys just now seem to be using stand alone dvd recorders to record their set, here in the uk a half decent branded one like phillips or sony will cost around £150, if your in the states electrical equipment seems to be a lot more fairly priced than in the uk, we seem to get screwed on most things across here everything is hiked up...

I don't think you'd even need a TV to do it like that, since you've got a preview screen in virtualdj. You just need to have a video card wiith second output (which I guess you must have if you're doing video stuff already). Then just connect that second output to the dvd recorder.
The other option is to have a second computer which has got a vidoe capture card in it. (Most TV cards have video inputs in now and they're pretty cheap to get hold of.)

have you had your lappy/pc hooked up to a monitor before? tv screen, projector or whatever i will guess that you have so all you need to do is split the signal to your monitor with one going to your recorder
than on play back just hook your recorder up to any monitors you have, a simpler way would be to use an av source selector for play back
hope that helps

Khop- nothing is different for you hooking your system to a tv as normal... The only thing is that you hook up a recording device in between VDJ and the tv. If you don't want to hook up the tv then don't because you still have your preview screen in VDJ.

I don't see what is wrong with FRAPS?
I am using it myself, and I can say that quality is amazing.
Perhaps u should configure it better.

If you were serious about 'price is no matter' and you have a very powerful rig to mix off of, http://www.datapath.co.uk/visRGBPRO.htm would be an option, albeit very expensive just for the capture card and a separate computer, but it lets you record the full resolution video from the VGA out so theres less loss through D/A A/D conversions.
Fast edit: remember that you'd have to take the second VGA out, and split it to a monitor and the capture card.... and its still overkill but it would have its uses if you do higher end production.
Found it looking at Arkaos's site, their software seems ok but too overpowered in some cases, and on the other hand I wish VDJ supported ArtNet for DMX out
