Topic: cue song on headphones

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

can you listen to a song only on headpones and not on main mix. I need it to be just like a real mixer.

yes. but you need a soundcard that has two seperate stereo outputs for that, or a system with two soundcards

Easiest solution, would be to get a decent usb 4.1/5.1 soundcard (surround)
 
what if i already have 5.1 onboard.........i played around the sound confiig also. i thought it would be easy and just hit the PFL button and that would only be heard on the headphones.

Its pretty easy yes ;)

In VDJ soundcard setting tab, choose speaker + headset.

That will give master out at one of your outputs (usually channel 1/2 at a 5.1 soundcard), and headphone out in a different output (usually rear out, at a 5.1 soundcard)

i have done this and the music that comes out of my headphone is the same as the master.
 

Look at the PFL buttons next to crossfader in the skin (if default), or use the TAB key to choose deck.

If you are on the SAME deck as whats played out as master out, you are listening to the master out (kinda), if you switch prelisten (cue) to the other deck, you should hear that deck...

does it work?

If not, wrong setup
