Virtual DJ is a program which came from very humble beginnings, initially it was branded a toy and left a little to be desired by professional DJ's, but today it is regarded as one of the best DJ programs on the market for all kinds of users, this year we have seen some amazing progress.

The Year has seen geared towards the Professional DJ:
Improved Timecoded Vinyl/CD support, New Smart Browser, Cutting edge Video support, New Sound Engine, Supporting more Digital/Midi Controllers than any other DJ app, and a New professional interface, have got to be among the best additions of the year!

What have they been saying about Virtual DJ this year? Is it getting more popular?

The Demo of Virtual DJ has been downloaded: 10,151,786 (yes million) times from Download.com, not just making it the most downloaded/used DJ program in the world, but the most downloaded/used Audio application in the world. See here.

2nd most downloaded: Atomixmp3 (from the makers of VDJ, not updated since 2004) with 5,127,440 downloads.

3rd most download: Traktor DJ Studio 3 with 830,815 downloads.

(less than 1/10th of VDJ's popularity among the visitors of the worlds most popular download site! not bad.)

Virtual DJ has a clear lead on the bestdjsoftware.com's Poll:

"DJ Mag" reviewed Virtual DJ (Virtual Vinyl, Numarks Edition) earlier this year.:

The Overall Score was 4.5 out of 5 , and scoring 5 out of 5 for Sound Quality (thanks to VDJ’s Brand New Sound Engine).

"The Bottom line is Virtual Vinyl is tight"

They even made a nice video demo

iDJ mag, Scratchworx, Promoonly and many more have given Virtual DJ great reviews and honourable mentions this year.

2008 already promises to be a bigger year than the last, with a focus on reliability you can expect many Brand New features, Feature Enhancements and more Controller Support in the New Year.

And still continuing it's tradition of offering free major updates to registered users.

Interesting numbers.
