Sorry I missed the part about Virtual DJ.., you've obviouly got an agenda here, it would have been nice to see some balance, you didn't show VDJ at all or state the pros and cons of both, bias is the word.

So for those who want to see VDJ in action see here:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rlLv5vmn1Ro

Other than that it's a nice video and shows a nice product in action, thanks for that.

The thing you liked about the channel fader with the black screen is something very easy to program, so it's probably an idea VDJ could easily steal.

An idea that SSL may consider stealing would be a more obvious one, support products other than those you make yourselves.

Why did you have to convert your dvd standard files?

LOL - That was really a serato only video. It's obvious you like serato - but since you have the two products, a REAL on screen comparison would have been nice.

Again - It's another program that does video.

Good to have options.

Nothing new to the table though.

Kris point about the cut to black with the crossfader is a very valid one, and is one I've asked for, for a long time... (and Coldcut etc)

hope to see that in next version of VDJ.

And of course a dedicated controller like the Rane mixer helps SSL, but you can of course get awesome controllers for VDJ too, in that price range ;)

And just about any other price range too.

I agree totally. I have wanted channel fader and video channel to linked for ages too. Think VDJ is missing a trick there also some combo audio video effects but that seems along way off.

Thanks for the video reply Ian!!! ;))
Good vid - hope to see more ;)

I couldn't give a toss what Serato can do at the end of the day.

I use VirtualDJ. It works for me, and I love it.

Amen ;)

me too so can we stop all this VS business now

its rather dull

Its only natural ;) SSL released video, so the comparisons had to come..

But it boils down to what works best for you, no matter what. And all respect to what ever that would be, VDJ or SSL.. ;)

People can have their opinions and i'm all for freedom of speech, but i question the point of posting a SSL video on a VDJ forum. Nobody would go on a cat lover's forum and post about how much they love their dog and all those cat lover's should really consider getting a dog(i'm sure people actuallt do). It does not matter what anyone uses and as stated before, if it works for you then it works. I dont get all the "them vs. us" threads on the net, it could be mac vs. pc or evolution vs. god. We all grown ups and have our own minds to make our own choices.

After VDJ having it for how long now?? Playing catch up and trying to run down VDJ is a poor marketing campaign. Smart consumers have been using VDJ for video for a while now.

That's it Tear,

VirtualDJ has Video as Standard, Serato Video is a plugin,

Big Difference, don't you agree.

The only thing I see that I would like to have is the channel fader to black. Using the Numark Total Control I think this would be easy to do and it would be awesome to see it.

Just fade the video with the volume of the music.

The rest of it is just neener neener neener. VDJ has/had the working product and there is nothing "wrong" with it. Every single day I find something else that makes VDJ better than the competition. Like.... using an external midi controller for extended shortcuts and using CLONE deck. WOW!
