Topic: BPM Scan locks computer

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

Anyone else having this problem?

I set it to scan a folder and if it is a large folder I come back sometimes to find the software locked up. And if you play a clip in the clipbank (looped) the whole computer will sometimes lock up.

Anyone?

Bump

Should I move this to some support forum?

Do you play with a screen with a CPU meter on it?

I do, when I scan my files the usege goes to 50% or over sometimes, and my Laptop is quite powerful for a Laptop, what I'm saying if you are scan a s**t load of files you might be pushing your CPU to the max, or close to it and that might be why it locks up on you.

i used to have that problem in v4, scanning hundreds of files overnight always locked up. i assumed it was something to do with some corrupt files, so now i just scan a folder at a time. takes alot more work over my hundreds of folders, but at least it never locked up on me.

I could understand if that was the case, However...sometimes it happens after 25 files. Sometimes I can scan 3000 videos without it happening only to have it lock up after a few MP3s.

Computer is overclocked AMD6400+ to 4.2ghz liquid cooled with koolance cpu cooler. 8 gigs of Reaper ram from OCZ so there should not be a memory problem too much. Now...I am only using XP so not all the ram is being used.

I dunno...I am lost on it.

I tried 5.0 rev 4, 5.0 rev 5, and 5.0 rev 6 it happens on all of these.
