it would be ok for basic use

what features where you looking for?

beringer kit has developed a bad name over the last few years of not being as reliable as other brands

think of them as the tescos / walmart of the dj world

I had one, it was mainly for Karaoke and some DJing, got rid of it because you could not cue at all on it. Sounded good just the same.

better than adequate for use.....

I own 11 of them, and have only had one die in 6 years.... All of my mobile rigs have one in them. The eq is famously rich... it kicks the crap out of many higher priced mixers.

The effects chip on board is OEM from Lexicon, so it's got stellar effects.

The new xenyx models are a bit nicer as they're dark gray, and they have a "british EQ curve" I don't know what that means, but it sounds great. The xenyx models also come with a 2 in 2 out usb sound card. It's a great card.. it's an exact copy of the old Roland UA-1 card. very hot, and great for recording...

The mixer itself is silent.... the only noise you'll get is if you adjust the input gain of the effects bus too high... Everyone who's ever bitched about the behringer being noisy usually created their own problems.

Behringer has gotten a bad rap from dealers because the markup on their gear is very low. Therefore they talk crap about it... they'd rather sell you a piece of crap mackie dfx mixer for twice the price and make a better commission. They also had a design flaw in a DJ mixer they came out with a few years back... they ordered like a million of them, and the chinese manufacturing company wouldn't let then change their design mid-production... so basically they had to eat a zillion vmx1000 mixers.. Don't buy into that low price equals low quality bullsheeot!

Unfortunately everyone (myself included) bought one, and was disappointed...

I own over 100 pieces of behringer gear... speakers, amps, effects, mics, mixers, eq's, crossovers, lighting controllers..... You can't beat them for the money... I've only had a couple pieces die... your gear is only as reliable as you take care of it...

If you abuse your gear, and want gear that will take abuse, you're gonna' pay for it.. If you're gentle with your hard earned gear, you'll get more than your money's worth out of this mixer..

and if you're gonna' buy into the fear, then buy 2 mixers so you always have a backup...

and you most certainly can cue on it..... you plug your headphones into the pre send aux bus, and use the aux 2 bus for cuing... works like a champ... you can also use the alt 3/4 bus, but it's not as good for mixing... the aux bus is the way to do cuing... works like any other mixer...

radiofc,, i use one of the xenxy series.. mine is the xenyx 1832fx n wat i can say it worth it.. it goods especially it british eq..:)

I like Behringer's Mixing Consoles, always found them to be a REasonable peice of kit.

I've been burned with the DJ mixer's They fail fast.

But Front of house/band mixers such as the ones your linked to - they work just fine.
Keep them clean and Don't beat the shit out of them.
