I have one big folder which has 2 subcategories. I have all my recurrent hits for years 1998 - 2007. In that folder is folders for each year and in those folders is the songs for each month of the year.
Virtual DJ makes me go to each folder until I get to the month. How can I get all the songs for every year to make a list? I would like to have a list of all the songs for the years 1998 - 2007.

or simpy right-click the parent folder (top level folder), and choose "RECURSE"
That will show all files from all the below subfolders

How do I save the folder? Everytime I exit the program I lose the folder.
I made the folder by opening the blue icon at the top. Made a folder name and used the filepath name to get all the songs. This worked great but how do I save it?

I figured a way to save the folder, but there must be an easier way.
1) Create a virtual Folder
2) Copy and Paste all the songs into it.

No the filter folders would not save. I would exit the program and come back but the filter folder is gone.

dj-in-norway and billyzee -- I am helping blaide13 with the same issue of filter folders not saving --
http://www.virtualdj.com/forums/77407/General_Discussion/Filter_Folder_question.html
---
Now the thing is the Filter Folders only store in the Core Database file (VirtualDJ Database v5.xml) which is in the MyDocuments -> VirtualDJ folder.
billyzee - can you do this for me --
1. go to Config -> Browser tab in the bottom section select the C: drive from the drop-down. And in this order click Fix, Check, Clean
2. Close VirtualDJ, Reopen VirtualDJ
3. Create a Filter Folder
Close and Reopen VirtualDJ, does it stay ?

Rename all the Database XML files in your MyDocuments -> VirtualDJ folder. Just ADD the extension of .old to them.
Launch VirtualDJ and create a Virtual Folder or Filter Folder. Close and re-open VirtualDJ.
Results?
And I am going to lock this thread. Please respond here - http://www.virtualdj.com/forums/77407/General_Discussion/Filter_Folder_question.html
You both are having the same issue and don't want to post same information in two threads.
