what the hell is a protection error and why am I getting it

A protection error usually occurs when there was an "unclean" version of VirtualDJ installed on the system prior to the VirtualDJ installation. There can also be other causes. The only way to have this fixed, is to contact the e-service, who will correct the error as soon as possible (usually very quickly):
