Topic: which websites are the best for downloading house and dance mp3s

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

Could anybody tell me which are good websites to use to download the full ( in the old days 12 inch) versions of house and dance music mp3s. Been Looking at napstar and at £10 a month i think it's not bad price. Any good cheaper ones out there.

Oh so none of you like giving out your sources then, very cloak and dagger, lol

Try www.juno.co.uk or www.dancerecords.com , both have a download option.

Cheers DJ ALF again. Been looking into Napster more and I think it's abit of a con. If you choose the full service £14.95 a month it looks ok but if you don't want to use Napster anymore you lose all the music you have downloaded from them. If you want to keep them you will have to pay 79p so if you have say 500 tracks in you libary it adds up to alot of money. So the way I'm looking at it is, that you sort of rent the tracks of Napster, you don't own them. Now I see why people go for the p2p and file sharing route.

Music IS expensive. It has been so for the DJ right on from vinyl to now.
If you want to deejay for public you'll have to abide to the laws or risc a high fine penalty.
So at the end of the day dj software is merely another mixing tool and not an excuse for cheap djing. Sorry

Now if u're just starting it's normal you don't have a huge budget to spend of music.
What you could do is to write-up for a newsserver and follow alt.binaries.sounds.mp3 with
for instance newsbinpro. A decent newsserver will cost you about 5-7$ a month. Take into consideration though that you're downloading illegally and that if u ever want to become a real dj you won't be able to use them.

Another obtion is going to a library and renting music cd's and copying them to your harddrive. In some european countries it is legal to make 1 copy of music you rented from the library as long as it wil be played in closed community being you and your family (please bear in mind what i'm saying is not fully true is i don't find the words in english to translate local law).

The way i'm expanding my collection is by buying vinyl. Second hand vinyl is a cheap way to expand your collection with those haveto cheezy party tunes. For new vinyl, be selective.
Nicely selected new vinyl will not decrease in price rapidly if you take care not to scratch. They'll probably even become collector items.

So it's up to you.
