Topic: Option to choose 24 hour or 12 hour clock

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

It would be nice to have the option to choose the clock mode (24h or 12h) as in North America only the army and french people use the 24 hour mode. Each time I am asked the time under the influence i really have to think about the conversion. Too much math?? Just kidding, but it would make a difference. At weddings I bring an itinuary written in 12 hour style so it would be cool to look quickly at the time and see the same time I have on my event planner.

I assume the VDJ programmers linked the clock in VDJ directly to the BIOS time as my BIOS clock is only 24 hour mode...

to set the time to 12 hour mode from 24 hour mode follow these steps (XP sp2)

go to 'Control Panel'
go to 'Regional and Language Options'
click 'customise/customize'
go to the 'Time' tab
change the value of 'Time format:' from "HH:mm:ss" to "h:mm:ss tt"
click 'OK'

h:mm:ss tt is what mine was already at and still have 24 hour clock.

These steps don't work... I tried that a while back. The VDJ clock is interfaced with the BIOS clock and my BIOS doesn't give me the option to choose 12 or 24 hour mode

i agree,

there should be an option, either in the skin or the program itself, to set the time mood.

just remember to subtract 2.

so 18:00 - 2 = 6 pm

and 23 - 2 = 1 pm .. 11pm

get it.

it used to just do whatever your Windows clock did. i use 24 hour clock anyway. it wont hardware poll your BIOS to get the time, it will still get it from Windows but obv in the 24 hour format! darn.

but converting isnt exactly rocket science

then why don't we have the option to show the time in the way we want?

why dont we have flawless pitch lock and smooth sound using TCV at low speeds?

maybe the clock isnt at the top of the to-do list

maybe its because they like the 24hr clock in France just fine

maybe they figure people dont find it hard to work out the difference

this time thingy is a small thing.

it would not take the vdj programmers more than 5 minutes to add the option:
"time:12"

it's a fast thing.

now as far as scrathing: that's why some of us use serato.

virtual dj is best designed for beginners and intermediate djs. sure, you can scratch with vdj.

but from my experience, the power of vdj is more along the line of effects, samples, video output, gui appearance, beat match, rythm control, cue points, and wide range of midi devices. vdj is way way behind with the vinyl scratching.

i bought a denon dns3500 just so i can scratch with vdj. used nero 7 ultra to burn the same track 8 times on 1 cd with different cd text for each track to make it look cool.

but guess what.

vdj tells me it can not find any time code signals. and this subject has been so frustrating, that i just gave up on it.

so, vdj progammers, please ad the 12/24 mode to the time text.

thanks,

dj shahar
