Which apps are best and easy to use for creating samples and prepare loops?

I use adobe audition 2, really good for editing loops and you can add vst plugins to give them a special touch, for making loops fruity loops and reason are good enough.
 
Cakewalks Sonar 4 Producer Edition for me;^]
