Topic: cbt, and wave bars

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

some songs, the cbt, and wave bars, never stay in line. Some songs are hard to mix. Is there a trick to keep the 2 in line. I know u can hit the syn button, but is there a trick to keep both decks, cbt's, and wave bars, matched perfect?? thanks

1. make sure you have the correct BPM for the songs (use either the "all music" or the "hiphop/techo" algorithm to analyze, try both if one is incorrect)

2. Make sure the CBG's are aligned under the beats of the song. If the automatic setting is not correct, adjust it by using CBG arrows in skin or keyboard shortcuts (see my blog)

3. Use sync or beatmatch, or even beatlock to have them stay in sync (beatlock will lock them together)

4. In FAME settings, make sure AUTO BPM is ENABLEd

this will make beatmatching work like a charm ;)

Just for you to know, songs with variable tempo and errors durring recording (track skips, badly edited, etc.) won't have correct CBG's, so you'll have to correct the phase manually when needed. Otherwise steps above should do.

if they stay in sync then float off beat check the BPM's being correct, try another BPM counter to double check (mixmeister has a free BPM counter) ans also check to see if the mp3's are encoded with VBR(variable bit rate) as apposed to constant or CBR. If it is VBR try re-encoding it a CBR mp3
