Its extremely useful for DJ's and producers to create remixes.

In a bit more detail for those who are interested--

They're actually 2 separate words.

"Cappella" is the Italian word for "chapel," so "a cappella" means "in the style of the chapel." See below...

A cap*pel"la [It. See Chapel.] (Mus.) (a) In church or chapel style; -- said of compositions sung in the old church style, without instrumental accompaniment; as, a mass a capella, i. e., a mass purely vocal. (b) A time indication, equivalent to alla breve.
