Topic: New windows kb5079473 same MIDI problems
Hi, after installing the windows 11 update kb4079473 the midi connection has many problems again.

VirtualDJ run, plug in controller, VDJ don’t find MIDI of the controller.
VirtualDJ start after plug in the controller, it works
Plug out the controller and VDJ is running, VDJ complete freeze.

This works fine, but I comes the next cumulative update kb5079473. And the problems are back.
Stop update windows os not the best option of long time.

Windows updates are cumulative. The next update include the previous update.

Big problems have users with a new windows installation. You can’t go back to the February update.

I'm with you brother but pausing windows updates is the only option until Microsoft and InMusic fix their problems. Microsoft came out and said that fixing the MIDI 2.0 won't help us because the InMusic drivers are partially the problem. They are not class compliant. Rane and Denon (InMusic) will have to come out with new drivers to help us. It sucks but we are caught between Microsoft and InMusic. What I'd like to see is Microsoft give us the ability to return to the previous MIDI AND still be able to update Windows. Rane (InMusic) support has been silent on this so far. Updates from MS are cumulative and that is why we must pause until they get this sorted out.

Drei understand this. I hope I can help an other guy. He installed Windows clean and use Denon. He has much trouble. :(

By the way my writing problems on the first post was with the Reloop Mixtour.
Reloop drivers have also problems.

Yeah, even though that update is not a "preview", they stuck the same MIDI breaking nonsense that the other preview updates had. Luckily I still had a restore point that had my Hercules workarounds in it. ALL windows updates are now paused on my machine until Microsoft puts out a MIDI version that takes care of this.

Busting on Microsoft is kind of a cliche', so I usually don't do it. But this issue was a real doozy. People have suffered significant financial losses from having to cancel gigs. Lord knows how many of those gigs were wedding receptions.

I have a Denon MC7000 and had this problem. Since EA BUILD 9209 (2026-03-01), it also works with the latest Windows 11 Pro
Version 25H2 Build 26200.8037 Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.26100.300.0

I use my old, trusty Hercules RMX at home for streaming because it physically takes up no space. I haven't had a club gig in a month, so I haven't had my Traktor S4 MK3 connected to see if that's affected.
