Usually the led of a button uses the same script as the button to turn on/off
However, that's not always the case. So, if a mapper has an action for LED_BUTTONX then this action overrides the BUTTONX script.
Therefore, when you change the mapping of a button, named "THISBUTTON" make sure that there's not "LED_THISBUTTON" key that also needs to be changed.
If such a key exists, at first try to delete all the script it has. This will make the led to use the same script as the button.
If it still doesn't work, then you can map/remap the LED_THISBUTTON key according to how you want the led to operate.

Copy/paste here the script you used on the BUTTON

Here is what I would like to happen when I press the FX1 button :
open the filter_selectcolorfx list and at the same time turn on the LED corresponding to this button.
Here is the script I use to activate the dedicated key called LED_FX1 :
on : off
Here is what happens when I write just the word “on”: the LED turns on even though I haven’t pressed the FX1 button yet. When I press the FX1 button, the LED stays on and the filter_selectcolorfx list appears. If I press the button again, the filter_selectcolorfx list disappears but the LED remains on.

for example I tried to activate the LED of the FX1 button when i press PLAY and it works very well.
Here is the script I applied to the key : play ? on : off.
but it doesn't work for filter_selectcolorfx even if i write the same script as : filter_selectcolorfx ? on : off

Why do you want a hardware indicator for something you need to look at the screen?
Anyway use this
effect_select_popup 'colorfx'

Yes, you are absolutely right, but I was simply trying to understand why in some cases the LED turns on correctly and in other cases it does not, even when applying the same script. It works very well with the PLAY button but not with filter_selectcolorfx. In any case, thank you for your response.
i applied your script and it works very well now :) Thank you

The VCI-400 is an older unit. There is a possibility the LED is burned out after all this time.
