Topic: Button for Mute Vocals for Karaoke (FLX 10)
Hello everyone,

I don't typically use Stems, but I would like to be able to mute the vocals for a karaoke party at the touch of a button. I am using the Pioneer DDJ-FLX10. How can I best map this specific function to a button?

Please note that I have Stems disabled in my system settings. I only want to deactivate the vocals for karaoke purposes, not for active mixing, etc.

Also, is it possible to increase the font size in Waves Karaoke? Thanks in advance!"

You will need stems enabled to any kind of separation.

Currently there is no way of changing the lyric font on the waveform.

Okay, thanks for the fast response. I’m using an old 2015 MacBook Pro with an i7 and 16GB of RAM; it’s a great machine and works perfectly with VDJ. I was always concerned that Stems would affect the performance. I’ll activate them now and see what the impact is

A 2015 MacBook Pro is going to struggle with real-time stems. You could process them in advance, but given you want to use the karaoke function you would probably have to process lots of tracks as you won't know what people will request.

In all honesty if you really want to run karaoke using stems, it's probably time for an upgrade. Any M-series Mac can handle real-time stems. It doesn't have to be the newest version.
