Some of my m4a files (iTunes - bought music) are *OK* on rekordbox AND Serato libraries - but are Truncated on Virtual DJ. The attached snapshot shows a m4a file on explorer (2:41) OK on Windows Media (2:41) - and OK on rekordbox an Serato. BUT KO on Virtual DJ - truncated at 0:03
This is the same for many of my imported itunes files.
THe workaround is converting the track in AIF - but this is time consuming.
Should I leave Apple Music because of using Virtual DJ ?

All of my .m4a files bought from iTunes work fine on my end. All of my ALAC encoded files work as well, so it's definitely not a general problem with VirtualDJ and Apple encoded music.
Maybe start by sharing the file(s) giving trouble to the devs?

UL to your own cloud drive and link, we'll raise the post so only devs can see it.

Could you give more details in your answer - I dont get it ?. This is another snapshot : see my itunes library on Virtual DJ : many traks have 0:00 duration - here compared with Rekordbox - this track is OK.
Its obviously a problem with virtual DJ - it sounds like Virtual DJ does not decode AAC files as well as Rekordbox.
I can reload the tracks but it is very time consuming.

If you can, share the files, or at least share the link to the file in Apple Music so that they can download + try it.
AFAIK every song I bought and downloaded fully in iTunes/the Music app, had no issues running in VirtualDJ.

Are we confusing Apple Music with iTunes?
Apple Music is a subscription service not supported (currently) in Virtual DJ. Even if the file is downloaded locally it will be protected outside of Apple Music or somewhere with Apple Music integration (like serato).

That's probably what it is, but I was trying to get OP to explain the steps taken to obtain the music.

iTunes - its clear in my first Post.
I tried to delete database.xml and cache and reanalyse my library - but the result was the same.
The work around in **iTunes** is ** deleting** all the tracks of the library - go to store -> purchases and reload them all. (thank you chatgpt - check it out - it sounds like a known problem on VDJ)
I kept 2 tracks for the developers of VDJ - it any interest.
I repeat - ** bought ** these tracks on ** iTunes ** - running ** OK** on both Rekordbox AND Serato AND Window Media Player
but - truncated on Virtual DJ.
