Topic: SoundSwitch 2.10.2 and Virtual DJ 2026 do not connect
Last year I was running Virtual DJ and SoundSwitch just fine. but after the recent update to Virtulal DJ 2026 they do not talk to each other at all. I am running Windows 11. I have gone into my firewall and allowed SoundSwitch and Virtual DH. Both programs are running on the same computer, I have enabled OS2L on virtual DJ, SoundSwitch is designated to work with Virtual DJ, I am turning VirtualDJ first and then SoundSwitch, when they are both running, I am engaging the DMX pads on Virtual DJ to initiate the connection. As I understand it, SoundSwitch should show the Virtual DJ logo in the top right corner. this does not happen.

I don't use a SoundSwitch, but does it dynamically create MIDI ports that you then use in Virtual DJ?

If so, please check to see if you have the new MIDI stack enabled, and if so, take a look at the workarounds in this post. Thanks.

From a quick look around, it doesn't appear that OS2L or SoundSwitch create MIDI ports, but I'm not familiar with the software, so can't say for sure.

Yes, I also encountered some change in the VirtualDJ ⇆ SoundSwitch connection, but I wouldn't be able to say if it comes from Microsoft, VDJ or whatever component.

So I'm sharing my current working configuration:
1. Set a dedicated port on VDJ and SS
2. Launch some DMX order directly from VDJ: it's required to have SS moving to "connected" status.

Just some more info on this - AFAIK this is only a Windows problem. I've had no issue with SoundSwitch connecting on Mac as long as performamce mode and a venue was chosen, and os2l is set to yes (this was stated in the SoundSwitch FB group too).

Something to note - the admin of the same user group is cautioning users to not do variable beatgrid analysis/use the variable beatgrid for songs until they release an update that understands how to process the format of the variable/fluid beatgrid output (which it was stated they were working on).
 
I'm a sound switch user and I missed the memo from facebook ss group, I have no problem connecting with ss it's just not performing correctly, I've tried turning the fluidanalysis from auto to manual and no change, Iam also a windows pc user, is there a work around this?
