Topic: Lost ability to use OBS as virtual cam
With the latest beta build, I lost the ability to use OBS as a virtual cam.

I even reverted back and still cannot use OBS. When I select OBS as a cam, it's a black screen.

I'm on Windows 10 Pro, RTX 4080, 64 GB RAM.

Thoughts? Thanks.

Any ideas on this one?

I went through this troubleshooting checklist:

If **Virtual DJ** is unable to detect the **OBS Virtual Camera**, here are some possible reasons and solutions:

### 1. **OBS Virtual Camera is Not Started**
- Open **OBS Studio**.
- Click on **Start Virtual Camera** (found under the **Controls** panel).
- Check if it appears in Virtual DJ.

### 2. **Virtual DJ Needs to Refresh Video Sources**
- Restart **Virtual DJ** after starting the **OBS Virtual Cam**.
- Try switching to a different camera source and then back to the OBS Virtual Camera.

### 3. **OBS Virtual Camera is Not Installed Properly**
- Go to **OBS Studio** → **Tools** → **VirtualCam**.
- Ensure it's properly installed.
- If not, reinstall OBS and ensure the Virtual Camera feature is enabled.

### 4. **Permission Issues (Windows Users)**
- Go to **Settings** → **Privacy & Security** → **Camera**.
- Ensure **Apps can access your camera** is turned **ON**.
- Scroll down to **Allow desktop apps to access your camera** and enable it.

### 5. **OBS Virtual Camera is Being Used by Another App**
- If another application is already using **OBS Virtual Cam**, Virtual DJ may not detect it.
- Close apps like Zoom, Skype, or Discord that might be using the camera.

### 6. **Virtual DJ Does Not Support OBS Virtual Camera Format**
- OBS Virtual Cam outputs **YUY2** or **NV12** formats.
- Some apps, including older versions of Virtual DJ, may not support these.
- Try changing the **output format** in OBS by using plugins like **"DirectShow Filter"**.

### 7. **Reinstall Virtual DJ & OBS**
- If all else fails, reinstall both **Virtual DJ** and **OBS Studio**.
- Ensure you have the latest versions installed.

Nothing helped.

Any ideas?

As you have NVIDIA graphics, maybe it's related to the recent NVIDIA driver issues?

What driver version are you using?

I just tried with OBS Studio virtual camera in VDJ here and it's working (driver 566.14)

I tried rolling back to this driver and still no luck.

I've tried everything. All other non-virtual cams do work.

Fortunately, I have a workaround via Spout.

Thanks.
