I have acquired a new Gaming PC: MSI Cyborg i7 laptop - NVIDIA RTX 4060, 32GB Ram, 2TB SSD Storage. Win10 OS. Have the latest VDJ installed (2024). Controller(s): Pioneer SB3 (WASAPI). I also have a Pioneer SR2 (ASIO), but have not ran it yet. Gutted (uninstalled) un-necessary Apps, and have bare min in Startup. Went thru all the Power Management settings (as suggested) - Set to High Performance. Anything I can do within VDJ settings? Or maybe something I had missed on the Windows side. Fwiw, I have tried adjusting Latency within VDJ, to no help (lowered, and increased value, no change). I set it back to default (256), Ultra is default to [Yes] Appreciate any help resolving the issue. The song I use to test is Billy Joel - She's Always a Woman.

There a few more things you can check/adjust for Windows besides what you've already described - see those other things on following Wiki page:
https://www.virtualdj.com/wiki/PC%20Optimize.html
Also, do those pops/clicks happen with the SR2/computer only play?

Hello, I have a Pioneer DDJ SR2 controller. Since I updated Windows 11 to version 24H2, I have had many problems with Virtual DJ, clicks, audio slowdowns, and even the program hangs. With the previous version of Windows, everything worked perfectly.

I'm still waiting on VDJ techs to answer us on this issue.
People that are saying update drivers and optimize.. all that is tried. This is a new issue happening with some new PC systems...

Not sure what it has to do with VDJ if you've identified it's a Windows update causing the problem. Rolling back the windows update seems to be the logical solution?

I have the same issue as described by some on this forum. My system includes a Lenovo with RTX 3050 6 gig VRAM, I-5 eight physical cores; Windows 11 fully updated; Pioneer DDJ-SR2 with latest drivers; Latest version of Virtual DJ. I get a lot of pops during playback when the SR2 controller is connected and operated. When the SR2 is NOT connected, Virtual DJ plays smooth as silk including running Stems, with no pops whatsoever, while using only standard Realtek audio and the motherboard's audio chipset.
So when I run VDJ using the Pioneer controller, I get lots of pops, something I am not used to. (I have also been using VDJ for over 15 years now.) Lastly, I tried uninstalling the SR2 drivers and reinstalling them, and the same with Virtual DJ, uninstalling the program and reinstalling most recent version. This sucks.

What's your ASIO buffer size set to? Did you try adjusting it? It's in the manual...

Hi all I've had this issue and I think I've resolved it for me! So the last few weeks I've have the crack whistle and pops plus the freezing of system and music. I've done many tests on all items with no resolve:
full test and updates on controllers- both work fine in stand alone modes no issues. ( mixstrem plus and a Denon SC live 4)
Laptop- full reboots ( this been done twice ) uninstalled / reinstalled software's and VDJ . on its own runs perfectly fine.
Now have the laptop rebooted again ( this is the second time mentioned above ) with out updating windows due to comments re windows update potentially being the issue.
controller with laptop connected- test done running fine no issues.
Now final test is connection of speakers- done this yesterday and blown the speaker!!!! think it maybe just cut out will investigate further. ( only used one speaker as was a home test and partner works from home) Now I wasn't even pushing the speaker and wouldn't of even thought it could be that so was very confused.
So a trip to a retailer and purchased new speakers ( got back ups too , but as a good excuse to get some new ones lol) plus had a very interesting convo regarding my issues.
He told me that controllers are good but cant manage the amount of demand at times your asking it to do.
So be the way I was setting up the system it was most likely over working the controller.
So the way I set up is the controller has the following running from it :
laptop connected-duel screen and playlist from laptop easier to view and manage for me.
Speakers connected- all in one controller.
Headphones- standard
Mic- standard
Music running via the decks on the controllers
The retailer stated that I have done everything I can to resolve so the issue is to much demand is being put onto the controller so its creating the freezing pops music stopping.
He recommended a separate mixer for the speakers and the mic then to plug the controller into this mixer also.
Now I'm aware that many do this sort of set up already ( have seen on Facebook etc..) But it wasn't something that I was thinking about as have all in one controllers.
So yesterday I've set up with this new mixer with a speaker powered via it and also the mic, with the controller plugged into it also.
Result was no issues at all!
Now a gig test will be done tonight so fingers crossed ill know better then. Personal I I'm poss the same as most of you guys and girls, very frustrated about it and fed up!
I hope this information can help some of you lot out.
