Hi there, complete noob here, please be gentle. I wanna restart my online radio station and I need one simple function which I almost figured out, I wonder if anyone could help get me past the finish line.
I need to have a playlist on one deck and background music for talking on the other. Play a few songs from deck A and then switch to deck B for some conversation while deck is paused and ready for the next song. I need a smooth transition between decks. I was able to combine two things into one and came up with the code below.
deck 1 masterdeck ? deck 1 pause & deck 2 play & auto_crossfade 5000ms : deck 1 play & deck 2 pause & auto_crossfade 5000ms & deck 1 select
The crossfade is perfect, slowly decreasing and increasing the volume when switching decks. But the pause of the track is too sudden, how can I slow it down a little so it doesn't feel so off the cliff?

you could first start deck 2 and start the crossfade, then wait 5 seconds and then pause deck 1
deck 2 play & auto_crossfade 5000ms & wait 5000ms & deck 1 pause
deck 2 play & auto_crossfade 5000ms & wait 5000ms & deck 1 pause

You actually solved my problem, gotta tinker with it a bit more, but the main problem has been solved.
I'm using your line twice, mapping it to two different keys:
R: deck 1 play & auto_crossfade 5000ms & wait 5000ms & deck 2 pause
T: deck 2 play & auto_crossfade 5000ms & wait 5000ms & deck 1 pause
this works. I'll post a demo after I get a little sleep, been at it all night lol again thank you
