Topic: Next Track Time Stamps

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

I recorded a lot of songs in automix for a very long track, it's about 15 hours long, as I drive a lot in my truck. Does VDJ have a feature where I can put in "time stamps" so if I hit the "next track" button on my music player, it will jump say, 5 or 10 mins forward of my recording? Thanks.

good evening, the best is to assign a key or a button to the action

mix_and_load_next

this action switches to the other track in the automix window

You can use hotcues.
Create a new hotcue at the start of each song.
Then use the actions goto_cue +1 and goto_cue -1 to jump between the tracks.

I believe OP is meaning like .cue files as to skip thru the recording when playing on some other device. I think .cue is only CDA.

In that case you can enable the option for VirtualDJ to also write a .cue file during recording.
It works like a charm.
recordWriteCueFile

recordAutoSplit will split the recording to several files. Which defeats the purpose of adding a list of files in automix and making a recording out of them.. :P

.cue files are not exclusive to CD Audio. But not all apps and/or devices support them.
However it worths a try.. On modern media players / infotainment systems that run android, or provide Android Auto / Apple Car Play functionality it's easy to find a media player that supports .cue files

Thanks everyone. I'll try next time I'm home.
