Topic: Can Remote App Connect if No WiFi access

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

Many locations do not have WiFi or their WiFI has a secure/protected password. Can the Remote ap still connect to Virtual DJ? If, Yes.. how?

Yes, you can make a local wifi hotspot... (ad-hoc network, or direct to phone).

Can even connect via usb or bluetooth (hotspot/tethering on the tablet/phone with the Remote app)

So, this will work with a phone, but not a Tablet, unless the tablet has a phone carrier service... yes?

There is no need of carrier service at all, this will work with a tablet without any problem

In a way to prevent VDJ to use your Operator network you may do the opposite:
It's weird but Windows 10 does not allow hotspot when no internet access
third part hotspots are available and work great to share WIFI / BT... even without internet

In every case the more difficult is when remote app is running on a phone without network access
any system tend to disconnect from WIFI "to look for a better connection"
use of WIFI in "plane mode" can help to stay connected
with a tablet there are less issues

Will work fine, hotspot will work regardless ... both from your Android/iOS tablet and phone with the Remote app

Like Rune says it will still work, because it's still wifi based
So a phone carrier service isn't needed
