It is probably something I am overlooking; but I am finding IDJPOOL entries in my search results even when I have the option for online catalogs turned off

you can simply disable them from search bar options (little cog right of bar)
uncheck "search online catalogs" or choose "only use online catalogs when no local results"

If you've searched for and streamed that track before, then it will have been added to your database.

yes, i.e. from remixes sideview tab which can also use iDJPool
