Topic: Pad pages on 72 slightly buggy

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

When you select a User page by hitting shift plus the page button, VDJ seems to think we're back on the Hot Cue page (although doesn't always correct the pad colours).

If you change the page arrangement, eg, to have stems in place of manual loop, the 72 screen still shows the old page briefly on selection, instead of the stems page.

Neither particularly problematic, but would be nice to get correct prompts on screen and access to that third row of pages.

The Back playlist buttons are too. On my MC6000Mk2 the Back buttons loop round the folders, tunes and sideview. I was hoping to copy the VDJScript to the 72 mapping, as on the 72 it doesn't loop back from sideview to playlist - once you get to the sideview (or tune view, if sideview is closed), pressing Back does nothing and you have to use the mouse. The VDJScript is the same though (`browser_window -1`).

The OSD (On Screen Display) of pad pages on Rane 72 is hardcoded on firmware.
Unfortunately, VirtualDJ has not control over them.
The factory default mapping will sync with the screen, but if you start editing your pad pages or re-assign / re-order them, then it's better to turn off OSD completely as it will indeed show irrelevant stuff...

The shift pages are glitchy on Serato too, sometimes correctly replacing the user page with flip, slicer loop etc, but quite often not. VDJ seems to track them correctly and substitute with the top layer (hotcue etc), which is probably ideal - 10 pages of 8 pads plus 2 params x shift = 200 buttons. No good UI needs more than that.
