Why does the mapping window always close automatically when I click Yes to save the message, when I briefly change the controller mapping, just to have a look?

I'll try to explain it differently.
I work in my mapping, for example. by NS7II.
Then I want to quickly look up another mapping as it was mapped there.
So I switch to this mapping above.
Then a popup appears on whether I want to save the NS7II mapping.
I click Yes, save, otherwise the previously changed one would be lost.
And as soon as I click on yes, the mapping window closes completely.
That wasn't earlier!
Is that better explained?

Thanks that makes sense. Pretty sure it was always like that but will see if it can be improved

It would be nice if it worked like this again.
You can work faster.
Switch back and forth between mappings if you want to copy something.
And sometimes you work quickly and don't save with the SAVE button beforehand.
