Topic: HD Music video will play audio but will not display visuals

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

Hi Folks
Wonder if anyone else ran into this issue fist let me get my spec out of the way I have Dell Inspiron 5759 Intel I7 6500U CPU @ 2.50GHZ 2.60GHz System type 64bit Video Card AMD Radeon R5 M335 Intel(R) HD Graphics 520 Installed RAM 16GB
with 15.9 GB available
Issue
Playing a music video in 64 bit system: Sd music Video plays both Audio and Visual HD music Video Audio plays but a green screen is displayed in place of the normal visual Example of one of the videos specs From Tag Editor : Audio ACC (advance Audio Coding) Stereo 44100 Hz 256KBS Video H 264 / AVC / MPEG - 4 AVC / MPEG - 4 part 10, 1280 x 720, 25.00 fps, 6066 kps

Now it get's even more interesting installed also on my PC is the 32 bit version of VDJ ....The HD video plays on the 32 bit system

the only difference I can find between the 2 is under the option (on VDJ 32bit) video: videomaxmemory is Automatic(120)
On the VDJ 64bit VideMaxMemory is Automatic (4087)
Finally I thought the issue might be because it was saved to an external Hard drive with that in mine I copied the file to my C drive disconnected the External Hard drive and played the video but the results were the same Audio only

Any suggestions would be appeciated
Thanks
Jerry

Dell computers often have issues with graphic drivers

HD Graphics 520m is (was ?) not working in 64bit unless a using directx software emulation (not recommended but i7 6500U may be fast enough)

but latest intel driver are hyper recent

AMD R5 M335 Dell version have recent driver update for inspiron 5759
https://www.dell.com/support/home/fr/fr/frbsdt1/drivers/driversdetails?driverid=rg79x

update drivers, try with or without DXVA
finaly you may test (if really needed) DXCPL to activate som emulated DX functions
