*Cover Flow is set to automatic by default.
Yes initially, Confusing with Default layout ^^
Default: layouts are overwriting it ...
so that it can either be off or off unless you turn it off ^^
\Starter being the only Default layout using Cover Flow .... the documentation way ^^
<oninit action="setting_if_unchanged coverflow 1"/>
all other being (including Pro used on your screenshots)

... maybe to default to off but this is the opposite the documentation is saying
this will not be a fix but... once more a WORKAROUND taken as a fix : turn Coverflow off, it will be on
