Hello
As of recently I am now a proud owner of an infinity license so yay! But I do have a problem with with my tracks. Lots of my tracks are playing louder or more quiet then others. I'm using autogain, the zerodb setting is set to -3db and the VU meters are not going in the red but i'm still having issues. I can turn the gain knob up or down and that will work, but if I load a new track on that deck its either too loud or too quiet. Is there a way to normalize my library so everything is more or less the same volume? I'm new to the whole DJ game so this is all very much new to me.
Laptop: Macbook Pro 2011
Controller: Vestax VCI-380
Speakers: Pioneer S-DJ50X (XLR connected)

Where are your tracks from? It's perfectly normal for different tracks to sound louder or quieter. DJs simply check levels when cueing and adjust gain as necessary.
Autogain should help a little, but it's not perfect. You shouldn't depend on it totally. It doesn't replace your ears and eyes.
Track loudness will depend on when (year/decade) it was released, what genre it is, who produced it, who mastered it and so on.
You can try using a limiter such as LoudMax on the master effect slot.

The tracks are from iTunes (256kbps AAC) and Beatport (320kbps MP3). But even in the same genre and same year it's happening. If I can get a track volume to where I want it, is there a way to save that setting?

You can change autogain to "auto+remember" (but it's not recommended by Atomix).
As I said, you will get variations because tracks are not all made in the same studio, or mixed by the same person.
DJs who started with vinyl or CDs did not have autogain. They adjusted by ear/VU meter for each track. The basics still apply today. Technology is not perfect!

Just to be sure, your autogain setting is set to auto, and you do start with your gain knob centered?
And if that's the case, any chance you could give the titles of 2 songs with a big volume difference?

Mp3Gain uses the same algorithm as vdj so that's not very useful.
You'd also have to make sure to rescan your files in vdj afterwards
