Topic: More Instructions for Backing up database on a Mac

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

Hello DJ friends.
I have read the instructions on backing up my Database (I’m using a Mac) but I’m still a little unsure of how to do it.
i can find “database 18.xml” (date last opened: 2 weeks ago) while searching in my finder window. Is this what I’m looking for? My MacBook language is a little different that the one used in the earlier instructions (i.e. My Documents vs. Documents, etc).
Is there someone with a MacBook Pro that can tell me in simple terms how to do this starting from the point after turing the computer on?
I’m looking for a way to
A): Locate the Database on a Mac
&
B): Back it up, however it’s recommended.
I sincerely appreciate any help with this.
I realized I wanted to back up because I had a root corrupted message, but I think it’s because I had a hard drive in that I use on a different laptop also with Virtual DJ. I want to make sure I backup from now on).

Why not simply use the "create database backup" function from VDJ ?

BROWSER OPTIONS -> database -> Create Database Backup

Thank you for your response. I just searched in settings > Browser and I do not have that database > create database option there. Am I looking in the right spot?

It's the cog on the left hand side at the bottom

He said browser options, not settings.

Also it's not necessarily a cog icon. Depends on the skin.
