Topic: How to I point VDJ to a NAS drive? - UK

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

I've just hooked up a NAS (WD My Book Live - 1TB) to my router (sky)

I have a load of music on it but I can't work out how to make VDJ see the drive.
I can see the drive in Explorer, and can read and write to it, but no idea on how to point VDJ to it.

Cheers folks.

If you can see it in Explorer it should be visible in the browser. Under Local Music in the folder list, find the relevant folder (under the right drive letter), right click and choose "Batch", then “Add to Search DB”. (If you don’t have the NAS mapped to a drive you should do that first in explorer.)

The manual explains it well. Start here and make sure you read the second link as well:

https://www.virtualdj.com/manuals/virtualdj/interface/browser/folderlist.html
https://www.virtualdj.com/manuals/virtualdj/interface/database/search.html

I would also suggest reading the manual in its entirety - it’s a powerful piece of software.

[Edited to add the missing "Batch" menu in my original post]

Awesome. Thank you brother.

I needed to map the drive on Win10.
That did it.

So strange, mij NAS is visible on v8.3-64 b4537 and not on v8.3 b4537.
Maybe someone can tell me more about this.

W10 fully updated.
