Every since I added online DJ pool, when I hook up my external hard drive I have to go through the process of adding it to the search data base. It takes a bit of time bc of the size and I would like to figure out how to keep it in the db. I do not know the link between the online addition and the new problem, but the issue started literally directly after I subscribed to the IDJ pool.

Are you able to add files to the external drive? VDJ keeps another database on that drive for what is on that drive. If it is full, damaged, or has incorrect permissions, it can cause an issue with the database. Also, try another USB cable or port. Make sure your OS tells you it's safe to remove the drive before unplugging it as well.
