Hi

I've had a really frustrating time trying to find mac compatible audio effect plugins for VDJ8.

Can anyone point me to a list of plugins that are tried and true, and work on mac OS?

Yeah, VSTs or any other compatible effects that are compatible with VDJ8. There are loads out there that appear to be mac compatible, but I can't get them working in VDJ8... Surely someone knows what's good in this department?
 
Which build of VirtualDJ are you using? Test again with build higher than 3928 please.
 
I was running an older version, but just updated and seem to have the same results.

Any chance that some other skin, padbank etc... add-on might be getting in the way?
 
Without knowing which plugin you tried it's difficult to say why it doesn't work.
 
Ah... I've worked out what I was doing wrong.

Still, is there no list or repo of VDJ friendly effects out there?

pretty much all of them should work

I would check out turnado kinda a Swiss knife many FX in one.

its really the only FX type vst I use.
 
Thanks for the tip... Turnado looks pretty great.

Just trying to wrap my head around mapping it in VDJ... Can you point me to, or give me a quick how-to?

I've ended up buying Turnado... Any chance you'd share how you use it, in terms of mappings and calling specific presets?

i am using one of these to control turnado


i have mapped the knobs to
deck 1 effect_slider 1
all the way to
deck 1 effect_slider 8

then
deck 2 effect_slider 1
all the way to
deck 2 effect_slider 8

then i mapped two of the buttons to activate on each deck

deck 1 effect_select 1 "turnado" & effect_active
deck 2 effect_select 1 "turnado" & effect_active

as for the presets i just use the plugin interface to select the one i want to use

the knobs really do all the work with this plugin anyways that is the way i use it.
 
Yep, that's essentially what I have going on... just hoping to work out how to call different presets from the controller, to avoid fiddling around with the mouse.

I've also had VDJ8 crash if there are different presets called on the left and right decks. You experienced that?
 
no crashes here but generally only using it on 1 deck at a time with the same preset on both

been using it more then a year so i am sure it would have crashed by now right?

How are you controlling it? Mapped to a controller?
