Hi all I am trying to get my mic to record in Virtual dj 8. I am using a Pioneer ddj sr controller. When I try the mic configurations, all I get is a loud humming noise.
Please help.
Thanks

Thanks for the reply but I do not have the option to add record like you have it.
I have to add it in the input option and it still does the same thing.

Yes the record is available in the Inputs section. The screenshot of the manual was taken from previous version.
So you get the noise even if the MIC is turned off or not connected at all ?
Do you also get the music recorded (along with the humm noise) or just the humm noise ?
What if you have a "mic" line instead of "record" ?

When I turn the mic on, that is when I hear the noise.

I have not recorded with the mic yet because the noise.

I tried the line mic first before you told me about the record. No luck on both.
Thanks

I just tried with the Audio setup as shown in the manual (with Master & Headphones on Chans 1,2 and 3,4 and a record line in Chans 1,2) and got crystal clear recorded sound (and output) incl. Mic and my mixing.
Perhaps you could consult Pioneer (or the manual) to see if your Microphone meets the spec requirements
Also try not to have the Pioneer sound card as default device of your OS for both playback and recording or some enhancements may apply otherways

Under the Pioneer Asio sound card settings there is no channel 1&2 only L&R

had a similar issue some years ago with an old setup, having my mtp set up as both caused a clash somewhere along the lines and had to swap a few things around in the os settings. if i remember correctly i used ended up just using my laptop mic input to record from... not that i recorded much anyway.
