Topic: Stop decks 3 and 4 auto loading next track after linein button assignment

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

I have a button set to deck 4 as linein for mic and effects. But once I press it that deck becomes active for next track load. I want to keep next track loads for decks 1 and 2 only. Even if I switch the layout to 2 deck mode it continues to use deck 4 as the next track load. How do I get it to go back to the previous decks 1 and 2 after I have released button?

Currently the mapped button looks like this.

down ? deck 4 linein on & deck 1 volume 50% & deck 2 volume 50% & deck 3 volume 50% : deck 4 linein off & deck 1 volume 100% & deck 2 volume 100% & deck 3 volume 100%

Once you "open" a deck you can't "close" it.

In your case you start with 2 decks but then you open deck 4.
When you stop using deck 4 it's an empty deck. Double clicking a file tries to load the "next free" deck or if such a deck does not exist the oldest played deck.

So, after explaining the issue to you, the only work-around is to load a "dummy" file on deck 4 and leave it there.

PS:
This comment is not for you, but that's a nice example why it's a bad practice to load/use "ghost" decks for various operations as some user scripts do.

The problem is the moment I open the ASIO4ALL mic using the above key setting then the next track always loads to that deck because it does not see it as a playing deck once I let go. It see's it as a 'free' deck. Kinda annoying. Current workaround is to use a custom button 'deck active pfl' and click it until it gets to the deck I want to load the next track on.

How do you load the next track? Double-click in the browser, or load from a controller?

Edit: I could indeed reproduce this behavior, it will be fixed in the next update.
