Topic: Macbook pro with retina display 13 inch

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

I am planning on getting the Macbook pro with retina display 13 inch with the specs below:
2.7GHz Processor
128 GB Storage
2.7GHz dual-core Intel Core i5
Turbo Boost up to 3.1GHz
8GB 1866MHz LPDDR3 memory
128GB PCIe-based flash storage1
Intel Iris Graphics 6100

Will these specs be enough to audio and video mix?

I'm not sure these are my specs and it runs great.

I don't own a Mac, but I would look around to make sure. I have read that a dual core is not the best idea, at this date and time. I just read this on this forum recently, from a guy that knows more than I do.

That unit should work.
You won't have as much headroom for CPU spike as the i7 - Quad Core but you should be fine.

*I'm talking about controller use only - with vinyl timecode, I can't make the waveforms keep up with whatever latency settings that I try*

I still have my 2008 & 2009 15" Macbooks for home practice set ups and they still work. I kept both units at 10.9.5 OSX. These used to be my main gig laptops.

I have a simular laptop, works very well.

Thanks everyone for your support.

My main concern is the Intel Iris 6100 graphics card for video mixing, what is everyone's experience with this integrated graphics card?
