Hi all,

Looking to buy a controller that will take over from my keyboard and mouse set up primarily for karaoke.

Will be looking to utilise it for Mixing, but at the moment, I'm doing more karaoke that simply music.

All thoughts and opinions would be welcome....Cheers Guys & Gals

Use the new remote iOS of vdj 8 is exelent. For karaoke control an music also.

Do you already have a sound card or are you using your laptops internal card?
Are you currently using a mixer for microphones or do you need the controller to do that as well?
What is your budget for a controller?

I use the american audio dp2. To control de software. And a external mixer berhinger.q1202fx. For the mics.

The option above from AA 19 mxr. Is a good choice you got the controller. Sound card. And Fx for the singers. All in one.

Hi,

Use a desktop with wireless key/mouse plugged into an external mixer, with powered speakers.

I am prepared to pay about £800.

Thanks again :-)

Do you want to continue using your external mixer? (I do for better control and backup reasons)
One of my mixers also provides USB IN/OUT and can be used as a sound card for VDJ. Does yours support this?
When I use a controller, I have a Numark Mixtrack Pro. It's a basic controller with a decent sound card. I have now moved on to timecode with all external hardware except for my Dennon HC1000S that allows me to manipulate VDJ. While shopping, I would think about about backup options in case of equipment (controler) failer, etc.

Are there future things that you may want to venture into that may influence controller recomendations? (multiple deck mixing, remixing, effect controls)

I would like to use it for 4 deck mixing, in-between the karaoke that I currently do. I would still use my external mixer for the mics, and the vocal effects, but would like a controller to be able to mix the music side of things, but that won't interfere with the karaoke side of the gig....Cheers
