Then controller license is sufficient for your purposes. If you want to use Version 8.

A Pro licence, covers all types of hardware and is the only licence for that the EULA allows working as a paid DJ.
The controller licence is for one specific piece of hardware and is the cheaper option for more or less full V8 functionality for DJing at home.
HOWEVER the controller licence, cheaper in the short term isn't upgradable so if you buy a different controller in the future you will have to buy a new licence, Also as I said, the controller licence is for a specific hardware profile and you can't add supplementary hardware.
So weigh it up; Pro licence, more expensive but no limitations, controller licence, cheaper but If your controller breaks tomorrow you have 2 options buy the same controller again (lets be honest who'd want to do that?) or buy a new controller and buy a new licence

To supplement locodogs comments - there is also the subscriber option, which does prove a full license for working DJs but is paid for monthly.
And no, paying a subscription for 16 months does not entitle you to a free Infinity license :-)

Now i understand....but since i only use it at home, controller license is "sufficient" to me. But this is my dilemna, i want to buy vdj8 controller license only for my rmx but not all (or most) of vdj8's functionality can't be control by rmx (after i downloaded the free version). So can anyone pls advise how to map vdj8 to rmx so i can use rmx to control some of the functions (sampler, effects, loops)of vdj8.
My problem now is , if i buy the controller license only of vdj8 to be use for my rmx and i wasnt able use it all of its functions, im planning to buy ddj-sb. But since i only have a controller license of vdj8 that i used for rmx, i will end up buying another controller license so i can use it for ddj-sb.
Here is how it will look like : if i buy the controller license only ($99) for rmx and i wont be able to use all of its functions, ill buy ddj-sb ($250). But i have to buy another controller license ($99) only now for ddj-sb.so the total im spending is $448....but if i buy pro license ($299) for rmx and cant use all of its functions, i ll buy ddj-sb ($250), which will total $549.
That's the reason i want to know if i can map the vdj8 to rmx so i will be only spending $99 for the controller license only. Or if it cant really map it, ill buy ddj-sb first ($250) and the contoller license ($99) so it will only cost me $349 at the most...

The control is only limited by the amount of buttons/knobs/faders the controller has.
Things can be remapped easily within VDJ to suit your needs. But you will still be limited with the number of controls on the RMX. The same is try of the SB - you can only control things if you have enoughts buttons etc.
In future please do not copy and paste someone else's reply - its very confusing when trying to give you the answers you need. Thanks

Again there are things to weigh up
A controller licence can be remapped so you can control any aspect of V8 but the rmx only has so many buttons. Eventually you'll run out of buttons to map to (this happens with every controller given the near infinite ways it can be mapped)
Looking at the rmx if you were willing to sacrifice the kill buttons and make them mode buttons then you could squeeze some extra functionality out of the hardware, like wise you could get more performance if you'd be willing to use the keyboard for some mapping. BUT this all starts becoming messy and not all that user friendly,
So in all honestly I'd recommend upgrading. Because the rmx is a bit limited and a bit of a relic.

Will I be able to broadcast using the one controller licence? I am 70 years old so the issue of being limited to one controller is not a problem. The one controller will live longer than I will. i just want to know if it will allow recording and broadcasting. Thanks

All aspects of recording is fine with a plus (controller) licence, as for broadcasting... erm if you check the broadcasting options you have with a Home licence, I believe that the plus licence is the same.
You can broadcast in a limited way through the Atomix site but no Shoutcast nor Icecast.
