That's a pretty soft card. I have a GT740 and it doesn't work well. What chipset do you have?

I have done videos with lower spec nVidia cards, and I only use nVidia. Granted, they have all been desktops, as I just started using a laptop. A couple of questions. Does it do it with all videos, on just a certain type? Speaking of type, what type of videos are you using? Has this always happened, or did it just start? Are you using the latest version of 8? Does it do the same thing on version 7? Explain the crashes? You should be connected to the internet, so the crash reports can be generated to support.

What are your problems?
I have a GT740M and don't have problems.

Pach I have tried to use the GT740M card but the videos skip and studder. The onboard Intel HD Graphics 4600 chipset does a perfect job for me, without fail. Which I don't understand considering the benchmark difference in the two. One would think the GT would perform better. But I see you are defending it enthusiastically, so perhaps I will take another look at it.:)

If it's stuttering, maybe its something in your settings.
What I did:
Set vdj.exe to use the nVidia card in nVidia control panel.
All other video settings on their default value.
Maybe you have to set VideoForceFullscreen to 1.

Pach I just update the GT740M, update version 347.52, but it still studders. I'm using the I7 4700HQ processor and quite frankly I don't understand it ether. Perhaps it is something else. But, the 4600HD just works for me. What I'm sayin' here is, if the onboard works, use it. Less cabbage to deal with, IMHO. Shots for the house!!:)

Guess out of my confusion I'll also through this in. My backup lappy is an Asus X55A, which has an Intel HM70 Express chipset in it. I can't find a benchmark for it. But the lappy will mix vids all night long. I say confusion because there seems to be a huge amount of graphics card discussion in the forums, I don't use one, and get along without a hitch. Just sayin'. Now, let's drink beer!!

thanks for the anwsers , i choose to use the high performance Nvidia card and i end up finding out that the problem of my crashes was in the skin i was using, i used the original 2 deck default skin of VDJ7 on the latest update on VDJ8 and always crashed after 30 minutes of playing with videos, now i use any other vdj8 skin and no problems.
