Topic: How to find your Virtual DJ folder in Mac Pro Retina to download effects

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

Hi DJ Spina here,
I could not find my VDJ folder to use an effect I downloaded but I figured it out and wanted to share.

DJ pro users can download the effect from the VDJ site. Once you have downloaded your effect open Finder on your mac and look in your download folder on the left side pane and locate the effect.

Drag the effect to your desktop and leave it there for now. Next while you are still in finder click on the Macintosh HD on the bottom left side pane under devices. It might be partially obscured and if it is bring your curser to the line of the pane and drag it to the right to enlarge the pane. Then look at the top right of the gray bar area of the finder window and click on the word search. A search bar should pop up. In the search bar type "Virtual DJ" and hit return. All the virtual DJ folders will pop up and you will see a blue folder that says Virtual DJ.

Click on the Virtual DJ folder. When it opens you will see a folder that says "plugins". Now you can drag the effect download from your desktop to the plugins folder. Phew!!!

Now you can exit out of finder and open your Virtual DJ software. In the middle of your screen under the decks you will see the following tabs:
Browser,Sampler,Effects and Record. Click on the Effects tab and in the left pane you should see the effect you just dragged into the plugins folder.

Put a song on your deck and click the arrow next to your deck and choose your effect, and adjust your sound. If it doesn't work exit out of the VDJ program and reopen it. That should work for you it did for me. Good luck!
